    Hi, i was treated for lyme last year with doc now sez that the lyme went to fibro.which i no nothing about.i continue to take plaquenil along wth amitriptyline.nyway,i was wondering,is plaquenil a medication that is used to treat fibro? i still believe i have symtoms are almost the same.thought i was She had been treated with 5 mg of prednisolone per day and 1500 mg of mycophenolate mofetil per day for a year before myalgia and weakness developed. She was also prescribed 300 mg of hydroxychloroquine per day 200 mg–400 mg alternatively on every other day for eight months. Hydroxychloroquine is available in generic forms and under the brand names of Plaquenil in tablets of 200 mg. The usual dose is 400 mg daily in one or two divided doses. Common side effects include headaches, dizziness, gastrointestinal upset and rash.

    Some symptoms of temporal arteritis include headaches, scalp tenderness, jaw or facial soreness, distorted vision, or aching in the limbs caused by decreased blood flow, and fatigue. The pain and stiffness result from the activity of inflammatory cells and proteins that are normally a part of the body's disease-fighting immune system, and the inflammatory activity seems to be concentrated in tissues surrounding the affected joints. About 15% of people who are diagnosed with polymyalgia rheumatica also have temporal arteritis, and about 50% of people with temporal arteritis have polymyalgia rheumatica.
